Love suffered split hand webbing in the Bulls' Cricket Victoria Regional Big Bash loss to Mildura Settlers on Sunday.
Doctors used five stitches to repair the wound. Despite the setback, Love told The Standard he was "50-50 chance" of returning this weekend.
It was a nasty little injury. It definitely didn't tickle.

"I've explained to a few people who aren't cricketers that the seam on the ball can initiate the wound and the ball (weight) adds to it," he said.
"It was a nasty little injury. It definitely didn't tickle.
"I'm doing my best to let it heal up. The stitches come out on Friday so I'll see how it is and assess from there."
Love said his team felt well-prepared for Twenty20 action.
"I think Twenty20 cricket really suits us and the way we play our cricket," he said.
"We like to be attacking with bat and ball and we're always striving to be good in the field.
"It was mentioned how important the Twenty20 blocks are before and after Christmas.
"The four games we'll play this weekend and in the first round after Christmas make it an important little period of time."
Love revealed middle-order batsman Lachie Rooke and bowling all-rounder Brandon Bant would return to the side after an overseas holiday.
He said experience from last season's Sungold Cup triumph meant his men were primed for the occasion.
"The majority of the guys in the squad were there last year," Love said.
"But you only have to drop one game in Twenty20 cricket and you could miss out on the final.
"You take each game as it comes and make sure you refocus after each individual one."
