QUEENSLANDER Cam Smith says his friendship with polarising American Patrick Reed is all but over following a scathing criticism of the Texan's actions at a Bahamas tournament.

Reed, a former Masters winners, was caught violating the rules at Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge last week.
The San Antonio native copped a two-stroke penalty after cameras caught him flattening sand behind his ball at the charity event.
When asked if he thought Reed would face extra heckling at the Presidents Cup, Smith said: "I hope so. I don't have any sympathy for anyone that cheats."
On Wednesday, Smith said his friendship with Reed was finished.
"I'm sure he didn't like it. I think there is a little bit of tension there," Smith said.

"I've looked at Patrick a couple times but he hasn't looked back. I'm looking forward to the weekend.
"I definitely won't go out of my way (to talk to him). I think our friendship, I guess, is not quite there anymore."
Smith, 26, said he didn't regret the decision to call out Reed.
"I really think it's a came of team versus team. I think it's a case of what's right and what's wrong.Yeah, I think there's something to be said about that," he said.
"We share a physio out there. We would talk and chat in the locker room, but nothing much more than that. Just a friendly-type thing."
