From 10 games the Bottle Greens secured six wins, three of those wins coming in the past three seasons under AFL legend and South Warrnambool export Jonathan Brown.
But one stone will remain unturned following the scrapping of interleague football - the chance to defeat Ovens and Murray.
After demolishing Ballarat in May the Bottle Greens jumped from from number eighth to sixth in the community championships rankings and were set to either play Ovens and Murray (fifth) or Western Region (seventh) football leagues.

O&M have been a formidable nemesis for the Hampden league. In their three encounters the Bottle Greens were smashed by 66 points in 2016, 125 points in 2014 and 48 points in 2012 - making for an average losing margin of 79.66 points.
The Hampden league's average winning margin is 60 points but thanks to Ovens and Murray their losing margin sits at 72 points.
Mornington Peninsula Nepean is the only other league to defeat the Bottle Greens - claiming a 49-point victory over the league's best back in 2010.
But the Hampden league can hold its head high after concluding its community championships involvement with a three-peat of victories.
The final results
