RACING Victoria stewards have approved the relocation of nine horses that were prepared by now suspended Warrnambool trainer Jarrod McLean to other stables.

Warrnambool trainers Matthew Williams (2), Lindsey Smith (3) and Daniel Bowman have secured horses while Jamie Edwards, Ricky Bruhn and Simon Morrish will also take over the training of horses that were formerly trained by McLean.
Group one-winning galloper Trap For Fools was among eight horses that were floated to Smith's Warrnambool stables on Saturday morning but it's uncertain who will be the new trainer of last year's Mackinnon Stakes winner.

RVL deputy chairman of stewards Rob Montgomery told The Standard approval had been granted for three of the eight horses to be trained by Smith.
"We haven't received an application for Trap For Fools to be trained by Smith," Montgomery said.
"But we've approved for three of the horses to be trained by Smith. I don't think Trap For Fools is staying at Smith's stables but it's up to his owners to make their decision before making an application.

"All applications must be approved by the stewards. We're hopeful that the 26 horses that were formerly trained by McLean will have new stables by the end of the week."
McLean was suspended indefinitely by stewards last Thursday, until police charges are resolved in the Magistrates Court.
He is facing 16 criminal charges, including six animal cruelty counts as well as multiple counts of engaging in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome.
