The duo played in losing grand finals as top-age under 15s and bottom-age under 17s.
They now have the chance to claim a piece of silverware after a standout season for the Sue Fleming-coached side.
Dennington faces Merrivale in Saturday's decider at Reid Oval.
"We've worked hard to get everything perfect this season so we're just excited now," Fleming said.
"A fair few of us have played in those two (losing) grand finals so hopefully we can win this one."
Fleming and Grant revealed their side was tight-knit on and off the court.
"I have a lot of my best friends in this group and I think Katelyn would say the same," Fleming said.
"We're very tight knit which I think does help us.

"Communication with friends, because you talk to them all the time, makes it a lot easier."
The pair agreed settling under the eyes of a large crowd was vital to success.
"It'll be very loud and the first few minutes will be full of nerves and lots of turnovers so we need to use them to the best of our ability," Fleming said.
Dennington's A Reserve side is also set to battle Nirranda on Saturday.
