THE end of the season couldn't come quick enough for eager North Warrnambool Eagles defender Elisha Sobey.

The wing defence, who played her 250th game in a 38-33 victory over Port Fairy on Saturday, is raring to get into finals and believes the side's relaxed nature can help it go deep into September action.
"We have a few clowns in our team and we're still laughing and have a few smiles in the team," she said of the side's mood heading into another finals series.
"They're all pretty young, but I'm probably the most immature out of the side, and it's good that we can have a good time and a bit of a muck around as that's when we play better.
"It's never serious before we go on the court and sometimes (coach) Jaime (Barr) has to tell us to pull our heads in and start concentrating because we worry her a bit that we are going to go out there and be silly, but that's just how we work."

Barr said there was not much she could take out of a wet weather win but mentioned one advantage of playing in the rain.
"Because we play such a free-flowing game in wet weather it makes us shorten the ball up," she said.
"Which is good for us because we need to know how to play like that."
The Eagles play Hamilton Kangaroos and South Warrnambool in their final two games as they hunt for second spot.
Port Fairy's chances of playing finals are over but coach Rhiannon Cuomo is eager to make the most of the final two games of the season.
The first-year mentor said her side wants to make an impact against Koroit and finals aspirant Terang Mortlake in the last two matches.
"Our plan for the last few games was to push sides as much as we can," she said.
"It's a concentration for us to create a good environment looking into 2020 and I want to keep this base of the side we have got and inject some goalies coming into next year.
"If we can continue to build over these next two weeks we have got left as a team it will give us a really positive vibe heading into next year."
