The mother-of-four will celebrate her 300th Hampden league appearance on Saturday - some 22 years after arriving at Friendly Societies' Park as a teenager.
Van Bruggen, 40, and her family are heavily involved at the Roosters.
Husband Karl is a trainer, oldest son Malakai, 16, runs water for the under 18 football team, and Arjay, 14, and Jaelahn, 9, both play.
Daughter Taneah, 11, is part of the Roosters' 12 and under netball team.
Van Bruggen said it would be a thrill to one day play a game with Taneah.
"It might be a few years away, she's only turning 12 this year," she said.
"If that's going to happen it would be at least three or four years."
Van Bruggen, who works as an architectural draftsman, now plays division three but has played all senior grades during her time with the club, including about six seasons in the top tier.
She credits Shirley McSwain and Pam Davis for attracting her to the club from Northern Districts and Trish Pattison for her continued support.
"I've been here ever since, I'm part of the furniture now," she joked.
"It shows how much the club is an inclusive club.
"Everyone is involved - it doesn't matter if you're a junior, a senior or a senior senior.
"I play with girls and I remember when their mums were pregnant with them, so that is pretty scary. You don't feel like your age."
Van Bruggen is still searching for an elusive premiership.
She has missed four seasons to have her children and in three of those teams she was to play in were successful.
"I have missed all the premierships we've won, I've been pregnant every year we've won one," van Bruggen said.
"The goal was to get a premiership but I think age is getting a bit better of me now."
She has been involved on grand final day, umpiring the 2018 Hampden league open grade decider.
