Western Bulldogs' Next Generation Academy picks 2019 V/Line Cup squad

The pair, 15, will represent Western Bulldogs' Next Generation Academy in Shepparton in September.

They are among 16 AFL Western District-aligned footballers picked in the 50-player under 15 squad which will be split in half and also includes AFL Goldfields and AFL Wimmera-Mallee teenagers.

Warrnambool prospect Radley and White, who plays for South Warrnambool, can see why the other was picked for the statewide competition.

Radley said White would keep his opponents on their toes.

"He's nifty and pretty creative when he gets the ball and he gets the ball a fair bit," he said.

White said his taller friend was a threat in the air.

"Finn is really good with his contested marking which was probably a big highlight in the trial games," he said.

"He's really clean and has talk around the ball, great leadership and he just knows where to kick the ball."

Radley said he was honoured to make the squad.

"It is good to know a bit of hard work pays off and it's a pretty good opportunity to get my name out there and play with my mates at a pretty high level," he said.

South Warrnambool's Henry Rhodes and Riley Thomas, Koroit pair Connor McDonald and Curran O'Donnell, Warrnambool's Hugh Fleming, Terang Mortlake's Tyler Humphrey, Hamilton Kangaroos' Ethan Knight and Noah Herrmann, Hawks' Jas Lang, South Portland's Cameron Rawlings, Hawkesdale pair Oliver Wortley and Fletcher Cozens, Kolora-Noorat's Ryley Hutchins and Heathmere's William Hunter also made the cut.

The players will be split into two squads for the Shepparton-based tournament, which starts on September 23 and is a stepping stone towards NAB League selection.
