The North Warrnambool Eagles export kicked two goals in the Suns' 16.15 (111) to 9.8 (62) loss to rival Brisbane in the QClash at Metricon Stadium on Saturday.
Corbett, who was drafted as a mature-age prospect after a standout VFL season with Werribee, finished with six disposals on a day where it was hard for the Suns' forwards to make an impact.
His first goal came midway through the second quarter to give the Suns the lead.
Corbett became the second Hampden league export to represent Gold Coast in its short existence. South Warrnambool's Louis Herbert played three games for the expansion club in 2014.
The QClash also featured south-west pair Hugh McCluggage (South Warrnambool) and Lewis Taylor (Terang Mortlake).
McCluggage gathered 25 disposals to be among the Lions' best while Taylor collected 17 touches and kicked a goal in his first AFL game of the season.
Taylor, a former rising star winner, spent the first five rounds in the NEAFL.
