WARRNAMBOOL Little Athletics club is gearing up for a busy state championships at Casey Fields on March 16 and 17.

The south-west club will have 22 members travel to the Melbourne track for the Little Athletics Victoria State Championships.
Team manager Lauren Colwell said it was a great opportunity for the athletes to test themselves against the best in the state.
"It’s about experience they are going to come away with personal bests from the higher level of competition," she said.
"PBs is what we focus on and because it's a high level it will pull the kids through and help them excel.
"I think for ones who are younger it could be daunting and nerve wracking but they will be better for it."
Colwell said 10 athletes were representing the club at state level for the first time, while three athletes will be competing in the maximum amount of events for their age group.
Ella Sharp (under 16 - 100m, high jump, long jump and triple jump), Hudson Downes (under 12 - 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump), Jesse Suter (under 13 – 100m, 200m, shot Put, discus) and Sam Carter (under 13 – 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m) will be the busiest.
State team: Jack Griffiths, Hudson Greene, Jackenzie Sharp, Sophie Ryan (under nine), Max Carter, Geordie Rollings, Hannah McMeel (under 10), Lila Evans, Mars Herbert (under 11), Hudson Downes, Hillary Hannagan, Ashlee Pavelitich (under 12), Sam Carter, Jesse Suter, Jeff Collins, Grace Carter, Grace Kelly (under 13), Amber Ferguson, Layla Watson (under 14), Ellie Ryan, Roxy Mahony-Gilchrist (under 15), Ella Sharp (under 16).
