Former Western Victoria MP James Purcell has no idea when the Reid Oval redevelopment will begin, and has called on the Warrnambool City Council to be forthcoming with progress it has made on the $7 million project.

Mr Purcell secured the cash for upgrades last year, from the state government, but said he hadn't heard a "peep" about the renewal plans.
"It is something they need to get on with and get moving," Mr Purcell said.
"They need to let the community know what's going on.
"A lot of work went into getting the $7 million for the community.
"I haven't heard a peep from them.
"There needs to be a detailed plan on what is going to happen, and when."
The Standard asked the city council last Monday about the redevelopment.
A council spokesman said the questions would be answered by close of business on Thursday, ten days after the initial request.
Questions from The Standard to the council are sent on an almost daily basis and are usually answered swiftly, within a day or two of being asked.
An update on the project will be presented to council at a briefing on Monday.
The Standard asked the council:
- Is there a start date and a timeline for works on Reid Oval?
- Has a designer been appointed yet?
- Has there been discussions with the AFL, Cricket Australia and user groups to make up the extra $1 million for the first stage and has the money been secured?
- Will the turf upgrades begin before other works?
- Has there been negotiations with clubs about where they will be based during the works?
- Has there been discussions or outcomes about out how the oval useage time will be reduced from 28 hours to 20 after the upgrades are complete?
