Camperdown has received a shot in the arm over the pre-season as it looks to barge its way back into Hampden league finals contention.

New coach Brooke Richardson, 32, who played in the Magpies’ 2015 and 2017 losing grand finals, said her squad’s depth had been bolstered by a mix of returning players and recruits.
Narelle Marsden joins Camperdown after playing for the Warrnambool and District League club Allansford and later with Port Fairy in the Hampden league in 2018. While dual Mininera and District league best-and-fairest winner Jess Cameron joins from Woorndo-Mortlake.
The Magpies have also swooped on Danica Clough, who won an A-reserve premiership with Timboon in the Warrnambool and District league last year, as well as Amanda Gilbert, from the Mininera and District league’s Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.
And while the squad will lose Amy Morssinkhof, Emma Wright and Ashlea Spokes, Richardson said ex-Camperdown cousins Grace and Georgia Lucas would return to the fold.
She said young gun Chelsea Baker, who won the Hampden league’s 17-and-under best-and-fairest, would also be able to capitalise on playing only senior netball in 2019.
“Taking over coaching is daunting,” Richardson said.
“But I'm really looking forward to the challenge of pushing all the players to be the best they can be for the girls around them. We're very hungry for success.”
