A Warrnambool man who stole dozens of energy drink cans and then twice fled from police has been jailed for seven days.
James Pill, 33, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to drug and bail offences.
He was unrepresented in court and made no comment about the offending.
Between October and November Pill attended a BP service station in Warrnambool and stole dozens of V energy drink cans worth $70.
He was arrested on November 16 after police found him in possession of a knife. Pill was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
Then on January 4 police intercepted him walking on Warrnambool's Laverock Road.
A search revealed 0.3 grams of ice in his pocket. Pill fled from police and was able to avoid being arrested.
He was located by police walking along Wanstead Street on Tuesday afternoon. He attempted to flee but was surrounded by officers and gave up.
Pill told police he had recently consumed ice using a syringe that was in his pocket.
He was arrested and conveyed to Warrnambool police station where he spent a night in the police cells.
