Labor roared into a second term winning 55 seats at the November 24 poll, with several candidates picking up unexpected wins in once Liberal strongholds such as Hawthorn.
All MPs will be sworn in at a one-day sitting of parliament on Wednesday.
That includes South West Coast MP Roma Britnell, who will be the opposition spokeswoman on rural roads, ports and freight.
While the lower house is a clear Labor majority, the party is just shy of half the upper house seats, which will be a hotchpotch of parties.
Senator Derryn Hinch's Justice Party managed to get three people elected into the Legislative Council - but has already dumped one of them.
Senator Hinch on Tuesday announced he had disendorsed Western Metropolitan member-elect Catherine Cumming over a leadership dispute.
But Ms Cumming said the party never supported her in preferences and was uncomfortable with preference-whisperer Glenn Druery's involvement with the party.
She will be sworn on Wednesday as an independent.
