The lifelong Saints netballer took a season-long break from the sport to concentrate on her studies, which included a 12-week placement at Warrnambool Base Hospital.
She returned in 2018, working her way up from the Saints’ division two side into division one and then earned a recall to the open team.
Now Dobson’s ready to play alongside Nell Mitchell in the goal circle as Koroit aims for its 10th premiership.
“I had a year off and wasn’t the fittest but there was a few injuries as well and they said at start of the year there would be movement depending on teams,” Dobson said.
“I filled in one week and then I was there. I am enjoying playing with all the girls. They’re a great bunch and it flows really nicely so it’s nice to be back.”
Goal attack Dobson is combining well with Mitchell, providing a one-two punch in attack.
“I love Nell. She is so accurate and I give the ball to her and know she’s got it under control,” she said.
The Warrnambool-based Dobson, 23, is in the final year of a four-year nursing and midwifery degree at Deakin University.
“I am enjoying my course and I can’t wait to not be a student anymore and actually start working,” she said.
“I did my first placements and I was like ‘yeah, I really do enjoy this and it’s something I can see myself doing’.”
