The Everalls currently run the Silver Fox Coffee Store and Eatery at Warrnambool’s Northpoint Shopping Centre and from May 15 will take over Deakin’s cafe from Jean Philippe Gaston.
The venue will change names from GingerKitchen to Brother Fox Cafeteria and Events.
The Everalls will split their time between the two venues and plan to use the kitchen at Deakin as a central point for both cafés.
“We see great potential in the caféteria at Deakin and think that we can provide an exciting product,” Mrs Everall said.
She said that the name change and some refreshing of the current fixtures and spaces were just the start of proposed changes.
“Our plan is to run an innovative café that offers fresh, healthy, local produce that the students and staff will be exited to frequent.” she said.
The Everalls also hope to grow the catering and events side of the business, form community partnerships and tap into the wedding market.
Deakin University hospitality contract supervisor Chris Livaditis said the new contract would provide a good outcome for the community with a focus on employing and training students in casual hospitality positions.
“In deciding upon the contractor we placed a lot of weight on it being a local service with fresh and healthy meals,” Mr Livaditis said.
“The transition has been smooth and we look forward to offering an exciting new service to the Warrnambool and district community.”
