Magistrate John Lesser on Friday directed all items seized in the raid of a Kirkstall home last Friday be retained by police.
Six are to be retained for forensic testing if required and two for further examination by e-crime officers if needed.
Homicide squad Detective Senior Constable Katie Johnstone told Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Friday that a search warrant was executed on a Kirkstall house the day after the suspicious death of Warrnambool's Stephen Johnston.
She presented photos of the items seized to Mr Lesser.
A man and a woman were arrested by police on Thursday last week but were released from custody the following day after questioning.
They were not charged with any offences, but homicide squad detectives said this week investigations into Mr Johnston's death were continuing after a postmortem had been conducted.
