The group of 57 students, drawn from years seven to 12, have been rehearsing for the production since June 2 and performed for audiences across the weekend.

The musical is based on the novel by Victor Hugo published in 1862.
“It’s about a man enslaved for 19 years for a measly crime of stealing a loaf of bread,” Lyndon Hurley said.
“He goes on to turn his life around and becomes mayor of the town.”
Evening performances at the school’s auditorium will run from September 8 to 10.
