Purnim booked a semi-final showdown with Port Fairy after a quarter-final win over Irrewarra on Sunday.
A win over Panmure in Grassmere Cricket Association (GCA) action on Saturday adds to an impressive body of work for Purnim to take into the game.
Purnim captain Luke Ryan is excited about coming up against Port Fairy at Uebergang Oval in Allansford.
“We are really looking forward to it, coming up against a top side on what will be a big occasion,” Ryan said.
“We know it will be a really big challenge but we will be pretty much at full strength so we are confident of giving it a real crack.”
Purnim is on top of the GCA ladder, its ability to score big with the bat and knock teams over cheaply with the ball making it a difficult opponent to defeat.
All-rounder David Haynes is shaping as the X-factor for Purnim. Haynes was the star of the quarter-final win with a double of 51 and 3-30.
The other semi-final will be between Portland Colts and Buangor. The Port Fairy versus Purnim game will begin at 10am with the Portland Colts and Buangor clash starting at 12.30pm. The final will be played at 3.30pm.
