Dartmoor footballers and netballers will wear the orange, charcoal and white colours of AFL newcomer Greater Western Sydney from this season forward.
The emergence of former Dartmoor boy Jeremy Cameron into a power forward for GWS was the catalyst of the historic decision.
Cameron, who won All-Australian selection in 2013, has become one of the poster boys for the fledgling club and has kicked 91 goals in his 37 AFL matches.
"We have not had anyone approach us with any negativity."
Cameron and Kevin Sheedy, the Giants' inaugural coach and current ambassador, will join club officials and players for a launch this month, although a date is unconfirmed.
"We've had so much positive attention because it's such a boost for Dartmoor," secretary Ange Lipscombe said.
"Yes, we are changing from Swans to Giants, but because the community is so proud of Jeremy it's wonderful.
"We have not had anyone approach us with any negativity, it has been great."
