While Telstra has restored mobile phone and data services to most south-west customers since the Koroit Street exchange fire last Thursday, "Vodafoners" are the last to be left out of the loop.
Vodafone corporate affairs manager Michelle O’Brien said network service in the south-west had been impacted by the fire.
"We have been working with Telstra to repair the site as quickly as possible, as we understand our customers have been terribly inconvenienced by this outage," she told The Standard.
"We understand while repairs have been slow, progress has been made, with Telstra advising services should be restored later today.
"We’ll continue to keep you updated on our network in Warrnambool via our postcode checker."
In the meantime, Vodafone customers have taken to social media to criticise the slow restoration of service, as well as poor communication.
"No one in this company seems to know why we have no network in Warrnambool," Cathy Johnstone wrote on The Standard's Facebook page.
"Try contacting this company is nearly impossible!"
Katie Stafford wrote: "I've been on the phone to them for 40 mins. They know nothing."
