National Australia Bank (NAB) have extended their opening hours today until 6pm. they currently have a withdrawal limit of $500.
A NAB ATM on Kepler street is also working intermittently. At the Commonwealth Bank Australia (CBA) long queues are stretching down Liebig Street.
Branch manager Geoff Hamill said everything was runnning as smoothly as could be expected.
"It's pretty good, we have no issues," he said.
Westpac has a five minute wait and are only letting a few customers in at a time. Customers are able to get an unlimited amount of cash and manager Glenda Goldsworthy was appreciative of peoples patince.
"People have been great, very accepting and very patient," she said.
The Australia New Zealand (ANZ) bank also has a queue outside their branch. Branch manager Dianne Collins said they were still working with security in Melbourne and are considering opening tomorrow. ANZ ATMs are currently working outside the branch.
The Bank of Melbourne is open until 5pm today and will then re-open 9.30am Monday. Manager Jay Everall is assisting concerned customers. "Everything is running as smooth as it can be," he said.
Bendigo Bank have limited services but are considering opening tomorrow. A staff member advised that their ATM outside was working for Bendigo Bank customers only.
South West Credit is also keeping normal business hours. Services are limited, however people are still able to withdraw and deposit funds.
Security guards are watching over the proceedings at most of the banks to ensure customer safety. More details regarding banks opening on the weekend will be known later this afternoon.
